Install and Use DevSpeak for macOS

DevSpeak for macOS gives you a native desktop workspace for technical translation, project context, history, and notes without keeping a browser tab open all day.

Before You Install

You will need:

  • A Mac running a current DevSpeak-supported macOS release.
  • A DevSpeak account with access to the desktop app.
  • An internet connection for sign-in, syncing, and translation requests.
  • Install the App

    1. Download the latest macOS build from the DevSpeak website.

    2. Open the downloaded DMG.

    3. Drag DevSpeak into your Applications folder.

    4. Open Applications and launch DevSpeak.

If macOS asks you to confirm the app on first launch, approve the prompt and continue.

When the app opens for the first time, sign in with your DevSpeak account. The macOS app uses the same account, plan, and workspace access you already use on the web.

After sign-in, DevSpeak syncs your account state and unlocks the features available to your plan.

What You Can Do in the macOS App

The desktop app is built for day-to-day work, not just one-off prompts. Common tasks include:

  • Translating rough product or stakeholder input into structured technical output.
  • Reviewing previous translations from your synced history.
  • Working with notes and saved context when those features are included in your plan.
  • Keeping a desktop-native workspace open alongside editors, terminals, and project files.
  • Typical Daily Flow

Most users follow a simple rhythm:

    1. Open the app and sign in.

    2. Paste or write the source request you want to translate.

    3. Choose the audience, context, and output style you need.

    4. Run the translation and review the generated result.

    5. Revisit prior work from history or continue in notes and related desktop views.

    Updates

DevSpeak for macOS is designed to stay current through direct distribution updates. When a newer desktop build is available, the app can prompt you to update so you stay on the latest stable release.
